"The Trans-Pacific Partnership: A Deeply Flawed Partnership", Mel Gurtov
https://wikileaks.org/tpp-ip2/pressrelease/
Gurtov explains how the TPP prioritizes corporate profit over worker and environment protection, and how the the approval process for the TPP is entirely secretive and undemocratic. I agree with Gurtov, and would also like to add that the expansion of globalization is a new and unprecedented phenomenon for which we can only predict the effects. International agreements like the TPP further take power from the people and give it the elite few who run the world's top corporations and governments. The global economy, while become more interconnected, is also making the majority of the population dependent on wages based on the decisions of a select few who are only interested in their own personal profit. With the TPP as a prime example of how NOT to do it, how can we make top decision makers more accountable for the effects of their decisions that affect the lives of millions?
