Week 4 Blog- MV

"The approval of TPP is entirely undemocratic" as said by Gurtov. In Gurtov's analysis,"The Trans- Pacific Partnership: A Deeply Flawed Partnership," he brought up a variety of ideas on how this TPP corporation has and will effect not just the US but other involving countries.Gurtov argues that having America work through TPP to manufacture products abroad will leave Americans jobless. Jobs that can be done in America will be shifted to different countries. TPP corporations, as mentioned, will turn to depend on low-wage countries.  Through this method, exploitation could occur. As a demand for jobs increase, the wage will lower and this will make a low-wage country an even lower-wage country. By agreeing to work with TPP, who "does not serve human interest," Gurtov sees that those who agreed to this corporation are corrupt and only sees themselves as "getting ahead of the competition."
After reading the interesting points that he had brought up, I agree that some of these points could possibly occur. Loss of jobs, bad working environment, and bad payments will happen. But even so,  I have to point out that even though TPP are taking away job opportunities, it has given more opportunities to those abroad who's livelihood depends on these jobs. America will always have job opportunities as it is a land of opportunities and there are a variety of aids in helping those who are low-income or jobless. On the other hand, those who are abroad could have lived a jobless life where earning an income is impossible. And by accepting the consequences that comes with these jobs, it has demonstrated that money, no matter how little, is important to get them ahead in supporting their family. In all, Gurtov's analysis demonstrated in great details on how TPP is flawed.

Question: Will TPP be beneficial to the people or only those in this industry?
