Asian American critique and Moana Nui 2011: securing a future beyond empires, militarized capitalism and APEC written by Candace Fujikane starts with Clinton's claim that American should secure an "increased investment- in diplomatic, economic, strategic... in the Asia Pacific region." Subsequently creating the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) where most people assume is helping further the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership). This makes me frustrated about Clinton's overall questionable presidential campaign that I may not fully be aware about-- but I am aware that she hired a former Monsanto lobbyist to run her campaign. It makes me angry that she would claim such things and create organizations that don't seem to help give countries a voice. Clinton claims that in order for the U.S. to remain in leadership these are some things that the U.S. must focus on in the next 10 years. How about in the next 10 years, the U.S. work on empowering other nations instead of staying on the top. I couldn't agree anymore with Moana Nui to address activists of countries to stand up for themselves and create their own vision of a more "sustainable economic and political future." When will this fear of losing power be an issue? and will this hypocrisy in politics stop?
