Week 4 - Chloe Shiau

Mel Gurtov's "The TransPacific Partnership A Deeply Flawed Partnership" focuses on who really benefits from TPP. Gurtov explains that United States takes advantage of outsourcing to other countries that "don't honor human rights and respect the environment." TPP is just a benefit for the United States to economically grow, and Gurtov explains that China is trying to protect themselves while they are still in power.

In the course of all my history classes, United States are always gravitating towards anything that benefits the country. I am really glad that China knows to take initiative to keep their country strong and not taken advantage of.

Question: Will there be a war between China and United States if this keeps going on? What if United States doesn't stop taking advantage of other countries?
