In "Diaspora, Transnationalism, and Asian American Studies: Position and Debates" by Christopher Lee is how Ethic Studies incorporated in transnationalism and the importance of how diaspora transform than nationalism. They connect overseas communities since the diaspora offers an understanding and community with palaces like Asia. Arjun Appardai provides examples of how overseas communities influenced by the diaspora in different ways like Filipinos who enjoy American pop. Lalumbo Lio shows how transnational aspect connects with culture, foreign policy, imperialism, and global economics. Although transnational connect with many things, there are the manipulation Asain values by the West with their ideas of orientalism and objectifying them. I was surprised when there was a mention of writers who are exposing the concept of queer, national, and racial identities that connect with transnationalism — these implications of the transitional to Asian American studies changing the mindset of transnational and diasporic process. It also leads to the questioning of "Asianess" like nation, class, or gender. The importance of Asian diasporas was to form new experiences and histories for overseas communities and transnationalism.
