In Asian American Formation in the Age of Globalization, Hu-Dehart, explores the globalization with Asian and Asian Americans. Globalization is a contemporary dynamic that has generated mass migrations from Asia to the Americas in the past three decades and provides an impetus and context for the comparative study of the experience of Asians across the Americas. However, there are many Asian Americans seeking a sense of connection with their homeland and their culture. The complex ideas of “ethnic nationalism” and “bridge builders” is something that Gary Locke continues to encounter. Gary Locke, first Asian American elected governor outside of Hawaii, felt “ethnic nationalism”. In America, there is a desire from Asian Americans to be the “bridge builders” to Asia and the Asian community. Hu-Dehart explores further how America’s global economy is benefiting from the diasporas of Asian. Furthermore, this continues to be a cycle of capitalism for globalization. Low wages and inhumane treatment of Asian workers is an example of the exploitation of globalization.

What are the solutions for the exploitation of globalization?
