Francisco Gomez Week 2

In Evelyn Hu-Dehart’s “Introduction: Asian American Formations in the Age of Globalization,” which discussed the new generation of Asian Americans and how it has changed. The article established great points that I agree with because you can see that in many communities other than the Asian American community. This new generation is not like the past, which participated in the Civil Rights movement and worked towards equity for their community. In this new era people are too focus on other things and that has lead to a disconnect. It is vital that this new generation is as aware of their community history and struggles like everyone else. The view of Asian Americans has been highly influence by the white media and the only way one can truly learn the truth they need to look deeper and reconnect with their culture.

Question: Who or what can we truly see as the main cause of the disconnect in this new generation?
